Vintage Printable - S&H Green Stamps

Vintage Printable

Do you remember these growing up?

S&H Green Stamps were issued
at retailers from 1930's - 1980's
as a loyalty program
that you saved up in booklets
to trade for catalog merchandise...

~~~~~
They are {kinda} still around today, but instead of
"green stamps", they are now
"green points"...and did you know that
the old stamps can still be redeemed???
So, if you find any old S&H green stamps
at a yard sale or antique mall, they can be
mailed in to redeem for "green points"...
{although, I'm not sure the current point value}
Of course, I like the nostalgia...
so, mine will stay tucked away in
a vintage suitcase stuffed
full of old ephemera...LOL!
These are still fun to use in artsy
or crafty projects...
Pin onto Pinterest too!
Have a fabulous day!!! ;)
  1. Oh my gosh! These bring back a really strong sense of nostalgia. I can remember my mom's booklets and when I had some of her old furniture in college I found stamps still in the hutch! No idea what I did with them, I can't see me tossing them. one day I will come upon where I put them (who knows if they will be worth anything by then?)
  2. I remember helping my mom stick these in the books, then bringing all her books to the S&H Green Stamps store to redeem them for a new treasure. She always got her stamps at the local A&P. The smaller stamps filled the page but with the bigger, higher value stamps she only had to put one strip on the page. I can't believe I still remember all that!
  5. This is so cool, Pamela. I remember my Mum looking at her green stamps after shopping at the IGA. I think I asked her what they were for because they looked like fun to play with and I thought I might get them if she didn't want them. She wanted them. :)
  6. OMG!!!!! Oh yeah, I definitely remember these!!! Like the others, we'd save them till we had books & books (& books!) of them & then we'd go shopping at the S&H Green Stamps store. I would LOVE to get my hands on some real ones, just for nostalgia's sake, BUT, I'm gonna use these & make a card for my mom...she's kinda hard to please/impress, but I think she'll get a real kick out of these! Thanks for stirrin' up good memories!!!
  9. My mom collected these when I was very young...she had lots of books full of green stamps! I just wanted to play with them, but she never let me. They were "valuable." Back then, I thought it was odd to have pages with the 10's on them. Thank you for choosing to share these images.
  10. thanks for sharing this image, the memories come flooding back....every saturday I would go to nan and grandads house, it was my job to lick and fill the green shield stamps book and the co-op book too, she would store the stamps in a silver teapot in her china cabinet. I used to get 5p for doing it! it was always spent on sweets!
    oh happy days!
