Hi Pamela,
ReplyDeleteGreat card, with the twin towers still standing!
I've never been to the States, maybe in the future sometime. I live in the Netherlands, have you ever been here?
Have a great time in NYC!
Hugs Yolanda
Hi Yolanda -
DeleteI haven't been to the Netherlands yet...only Spain, Monaco, and Italy.

-pamela ;)
Thank you!
ReplyDeleteYou're welcome! ;)
DeleteGreat vintage photo! Last time I visited NYC was before I was married, visiting an aunt and uncle. They took us to Ellis Island. That was really neat, especially since my uncle's parents' names are on the memorial in the back! They came through before WWII, escaping Nazi Germany.
ReplyDeleteCaryn - I LOVED visiting Ellis Island!!! I was so curious to wonder about all of the other buildings that are blocked off from visiting...something about abandoned buildings that I find interesting.
Delete-pamela ;)
Hi Pamela,
ReplyDeleteWonderful postcard...memories of better times.
I've been to NYC, but unfortunately never saw the towers standing in person. Last I was there, they were still clearing debris / working on the foundation for the new buildings.
NEVER FORGET!
:-) Vicki
Vicki - I never got to see the WTC in person either...just Ground Zero as the foundation was just starting construction...NYC is amazing! ;)
DeleteOh, this picture brings back memories. I grew up there but haven't lived there for decades. Thanks for the walk down memory lane.
ReplyDeleteHugs,

Thanks for the picture. It was so terrible about 911. I was in NYC the following January. There were so many barricades everywhere downtown. The people in NYC are amazing. I was there for 6 weeks. I met so many wonderful people. There was an odd feeling on the streets, my arms had goosebumps and I shivered it was as if all the souls were calling out. I was not able to see all the sites. I would love to go back to see the memorial and go to the Statue of Liberty, etc. and all the things that I missed the first time.

This is a beautiful photo and bittersweet to see the twin towers standing so proudly.
ReplyDeleteThanks for sharing this, Pamela.
