Gas was under .18 cents per gallon...
Full service was the rule...
Attendants pumped the gas
with friendly smiles,
with friendly smiles,
washed windows, & checked fluids...
It reminds me of the {super funny!}
CarMax commercial,
if the service of the past was
offered in the present:
My grandfather had a gas station & when we got old enough we "got to", it was a privilege you know, go help him by washing the windows or checking the oil or air in the tires! We were allowed one of the orange crush drinks in a bottle! He brought home the change at night & we all sat around the table & helped sort it out. Those were wonderful days & wonderful memories. Thank you for this image.
